I assume you are trying to use Dropbox for synchronization? Dropbox is a service that offers free web storage and can be used to sync data between different devices. All you need is to create a Dropbox account at dropbox.com.
I think that will be very good if your desktop money control app,if can be import excel data.
I am happy with your app, and if you can put in other versions fields for tax, (based in %) and total of tax and concept, will be perfect.
In spain very little companies need this app with this new possibilities.

I’d like to know if there is any possibility to have a version of the app for OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). Since a lot of people is getting many problems upgrading to 10.9.1 (Mavericks) i will stay with my old 10.6.8.

If I purchase this App, would I be able to download it on BOTH computers? I see from Apple site that some apps allow that while some don’t. I wanted to purchase the full version to start with but I can’t seem to locate that option.

How do I create a fixed expense/ income ?
There is a problem with the Reports section of your app.
For example:
If you select „Account Report“ and then press January 2014, it only shows data from 29/12/0001 to 29/12/0001 and not 01/01/2014 to 31/01/2014.
If you select „Account Report“ and then select December 2013, it only shows data from 01/12/2000 to 31/12/2000 and not 01/12/2013 to 31/12/2013.
This problem is in all report sections
Can you please fix is issue as soon as possible.

A couple of questions before I purchase the paid version…
1. Does ‚Premium Update‘ includes ‚Extension: PDF Reports‘ or are they totally separate items? If I want to enter more than 20 entries per month, and generate reports with more than 15 entires per report, should I purchase both?
2. If so, does this app produce non-PDF reports with more than 15 entries then? I just need to see the report on screen, not necessarily need a PDF version.
3. It says it would work on multiple devices (simultaneously, I assume) so if I want to use this on my iPhone-would I need to purchase ios version thru iTune store?
4. Would I be able to turn OFF syncing function at all? I might use this app on my iMac for personal expense and iMac Pro for family budgeting. They should not sync.
5. If new version comes out, would I be able to just upgrade it instead of purchasing this again?
6. How can I export data as CSV or Excel? I can’t seem to locate the button…

the app offers three independent In-App Purchase items:
1. Premium Update: Allows you to manage more than 20 entries per month and more then 3 recurring entries.
2. Reports Extension: Allows you to create reports that include more than 15 entries
3. Receipt Extension: Allows you to attach receipt images to more than 5 entries.
These items are independent and not not include each other. Your can purchase the Premium Update without using the Reports Extension and vice versa.
2. Reports are limited to 15 entires, no matter if you just display the report on the device or send it as PDF. To remove this limitation you can purchase the Reports Extension.
3. If you buy the app on your iPhone or iPad you will automatically get the iOS Version of course.
4. Syncing is optional of course. You have to activate it before you can use it.
5. All updates are free.
6. Find the export function in the Settings: Extras/Settings/CSV-Export

I would like to recommend some improvements that I would find useful:
1- The addition of the results of each account in the „entry“ tab, as it is now, but including the transactions that actually are apart in another section. What I mean is to offer the possibility of include this movements and the results, not only in the „accounts“ tab, but also at the end of each account when the movements are listed in the „entry“ tab. (If I move money from an account to another one, right now it doesn’t show up in the final results of the „receiver“ account (it only appears in the results of the „accounts“ tab).
2- To offer the possibility to export the data into CSV format, but with incomes and expenses separated, to avail me to copy the data separated into another excel sheet.

In „OVERWIEW“ I’ve not understand how to manage the budget; especially „Saving Draft“ and „Carry Over“.

the Budget is simply the amout of „free“ money. The money that is still available and not already budgeted for planned (recurring expenses). Thus the budget is:
Budget = Income + Recurring Income – Recurring Expenses
Additionally there are two other values which can influence the budget.
1. Carryover
2. Saving drafts or deposits
In the app settings you can define whether the result of the last month should be carried over to the current month or not. Assume at the end of the last month 500 UDS of your budget where still available. Than this value can be added to budget of the current month (the same is true for a negative result which is than subtracted from the current budget).
Within the app two types of accounts can be defines: „Payment Accounts“ which are use for spending and „Savings Accounts“. Money on a Savings Account should be saved and spend. Thus saved money does not belong the budget (= „Money that can be spend“). A transfer from a Payment Account to a Savings Account (= „Savings deposit“) will be subtracted from your budget. A transfer from a Savings Account to a Payment Account will be added to you budget.
Thus the budget is:
Budget = Income + Recurring Income – Recurring Expenses +- Carryover – Savings Deposits + Savings Drafts.

purchase can be transferd to other devices, however this cannot be done automatically. Go to the purchase page within the app and scroll to the bottom. Here you find the function to restore your previous purchase.
Windows phone is not syncing with SkyDrive automatically just drop box.

currently SkyDrive can only be used for Backup while Drobox is used for synching. We are already working on an extension to offer SkyDrive as sync option as well.
A tool will be very, very useful for me: if you can implement to dates for each entry (expiration date and payment date), I will be very grateful!

The app has a serious bug. (OS X Mavericks) When you enter a recurring record and then change the start date (same month), the app doesn’t alter the existing record entry but creates a new one in the database. The old one then still exists. The only way to solve this is to manually delete the extra entry in the sqlite database. Same issue when you delete a recurring entry! I use SQLite Database Browser to do this.
Furthermore some sort options within the app would be nice.

this is not a bug but just the way the app should work. One has to separate two things when using recurring entries:
1. The recurring template that is used by the app to create the entries automatically
2. The actual entries which are created by the app from a template.
If you change the recurring details (start/end date, interval) this only effects the current month and all future entries. Changes to the entry details (category, value, etc.) can be applied to future entries only or to existing entries as well.
But when I change the start date the amount immediately shows up double in the overview of the same month. Changing the amount works ok.

I just installed your moneycontrol software to track my expenses while traveling, I would like to purchase the upgrade, but noticed that i cannot add expenses made in different currencies.
Will you have a feature to add other currencies per expenditures and also give them conversion rates so that the calculation is made automatically?

you are right, multi-currency support is currently not available. We will add this in a future version. Meanwhile you can use the build in calculator function to use different currencies: Assume you are from the US and you are traveling through Europe. All you have to do is to memorize the current conversion rate between USD and EUR which is 1,37. Now you want to enter an expense of 10 EUR:
– Create a new expense, type in 10.00
– Slide to the left over the number block to bring up the calculator
– Type in * 1,37 and press =
– Now you have the correct value in USD
Of course this is not as good as build in function but it will do its job.

Die App lässt sich über Dropbox auf verschiedenen Geräten synchronisieren. Dass die Gerät unterschiedlichen Personen gehören ist hierbei kein Problem. Bei der Aktivierung der Funktion auf den Geräten muss nur dasselbe Dropbox-Konto verwendet werden.

ich überlege derzeit, auf MoneyControl für iOS umzusteigen. An sich eine tolle App mit vielen Features, die ich bei meiner bisherigen App vermisse. Es gibt allerdings eine Sache, die auf Dauer doch etwas stört.
Die App scheint sich ständig auf den Startscreen zurückzusetzen, wenn man kurz in eine andere App wechselt. Wenn man also z.B. noch mal etwas nachschauen muss, etwa einen Kaufpreis in einer E-Mail, und man hat bereits andere Daten eingegeben, wie etwa eine Notiz und Kategorie, dann verliert man diese Eingaben beim zurück wechseln und muss alles erneut eingeben. Kann es sein, dass MoneyControl für iOS kein Multitasking unterstützt?

vielen Dank für Ihr Interesse an MoneyControl. Doch, natürlich unterstützt MoneyControl Multitasking. Die App ist eigentlich so konzipiert, dass diese bei einer Rückkehr zur App immer die zuletzt verwendete Seite anzeigt. Nur wenn die App für längere Zeit verlassen wurde und man dann zu ihr zurückkehrt, zeigt diese die Hauptseiten an. Die Idee dabei ist ganz einfach:
– Man verlässt die App kurzzeitig um etwas nach zuschauen –> die letzte Seite wird angezeigt
– Man hat die App länger verlassen –> Vermutlich will man bei nächsten Start nicht bei der letzten Aufgabe weiter machen sondern z.B. eine neue Buchung anlegen.
Habe ich Sie richtig verstanden, dass dies bei Ihnen nicht korrekt funktioniert?

ja, genau so würde ich es mir wünschen, aber das funktioniert zur Zeit wohl nicht richtig.
Beispiel:
Ich habe gerade den „New Expense“-Screen geöffnet und einen Betrag von 12€ eingegeben, aber noch nicht auf OK gedrückt. Ich drücke dann meinen Home-Button doppelt, um alle laufenden Apps anzuzeigen, und sehe anhand des verkleinerten MoneyControl-Screens bereits, dass sich die App sofort wieder auf den Startscreen zurückgesetzt hat. Beim Wechsel zurück in die App bin ich auf dem Startscreen, und die Eingabe ist weg. Ich dachte zunächst, dass eventuell der RAM des iPhones voll sei. Leider ändert sich aber auch nichts, wenn ich das iPhone neustarte und MoneyControl dann als einzige App starte. Vielleicht ein Bug?
System: iPhone 4S (MD257X/A), iOS 7.0.4 (11B554a), kein Jailbreak oder sonstige Modifikationen.

I have a problem, a periodic input (test) was deleted and now appear a line in my accounts tab with the name „ninguna“ (none) and amount 0,00.
The problem is that this account doesn’t appear in the tool „accounts“ and i can’t delete it, can you do anything to delete this line in the accounts tab (account that doesn’t exist in accounts tool, where i can create and delete new accounts).

The account „none“ is not an account. This is just the sum of alle Entries which have no account secified. Many users wondered why the sum of all accounts is the same as the budget. One reason for this is, that there can be entries which have not account. To avoid confusion the sum of these entries is now included on the accounts pages unter „none“.

diese Funktion gibt es bereits in allen Versionen der App (iOS, Mac, und Windows Phone). Bei der Erstellung einer neuen Buchung oder der Bearbeitung einer bestehenden Buchung kann ein Foto aufgenommen und so an die Buchung angehängt werden.
It would be way easier to be able to create a new group/category/person while entering a new transaction (vs having to stop entering the transaction, go back to settings, create new group etc. and then come back to entering the transaction). Is this feature in the works?

Welche Probleme genau gibt es denn bei der Synchronisation? Verwenden Sie iCloud oder Dropbox? In der Praxis hat sich gezeigt, dass iCloud recht fehleranfällig ist und leider oft nicht zuverlässig funktioniert. Wir empfehlen daher generell die Verwendung von Dropbox.
This is really a great app. I’ve tried quiet a few of them, and this is the final app that I have been chosen. It is really easy to use, understandable and has all its functions. The only thing that bothers me is that the „passcode lock“ is not working very well as it could be seen the contents if I switch between to the other apps. Will you make it lock the app immediately whenever the app is closed? Thanks^^

the app asks for the passcode each time the app was complete closed or inactive in background for more than 3 minutes. This delay is not a bug but a feature 🙂 Without this delay it would not be possible to switch to other apps (e.g. to mail to look for the exact price of the last online purchase) and back to MoneyControl without entering the passcode each time.

GREAT app. It would be even better if an auto sync function was available. I use it on my MacBook Pro, my iPad mini and my iPhone 5 while traveling. It would make it so much easier if there was an option for auto sync on quitting the app or a Sync button on the front page.

It would be great to be able to transfer money from account to other without taking the amount transferred in consideration for statistics.
Multiple currencies would be a must.
I have tried many application the last 5 years and finally I found an application that does what I need without having to deal with too many useless option. It is a must have application for people for me who wants to keep track of expenses with rigor but without having to spend too much time to spend too much time on it.
Just after writing this email I have found the transfer option !

The only downside is the autosync function. Maybe autosync when quiting the app will be great, both for the desktopn and the mobile versions.

thank you very much for your feedback. It is a small disadvantage of Dropbox that it cannot sync single data entries. To sync a small change in one entry the complete database has to be transfered to Dropbox. Although the database is not very big (maybe 1-2 MB) this is still too big to transfer it automatically each time a small change was made.
Firstly, I love you apps. I tried mayny apps and decided to use yours as it includes almost functions I want and, of course, UI is great.
I saw an issue related to chart ploting. When i hold iphone horizontally, the app will shows beautiful charts. But when I then move iphone to parallel to ground (a screen points toward sky), it turn back to vertical view.
Lastly, it would be great if you include daily expense plotting in your app.

thank you very much for your feedback. When you turn the device to landscape orientation it will display the charts. In the bottom right corner you will now find a „Lock“ button. Use it to prevent the app to return to the default view even in portrait orientation.
The application is really great. The only function that I really miss is the capability to import CSV files from my bank in order to make the application really synced with real data. It is a basic functionality that has been implmented by a number of other budgeting applications and it is the only thing that it is preventing me to use Money Control as my day bay day budgeting application.
I’ve read in the comments that you are considering this improvement for future versions. Do you have any estimated date for releasing this functionality?

the application is very good, easy to use and very useful.
I have found a bug with the latest update.
prediction does not take into account starting operations.
step to reproduce the error.
1 – delete all data.
2 – go to accounts, new transfer. Origin: cash income / destination: cash.
3 – go to overview. the total is zero. should see the cash I have available in the „effective“
4 – go to inputs. see that it is only shown as a starting operation but not provided for in the total.

Now, every time I try to open the program it shuts down immediatly. I don´t know what to resolve this problem.

do you use the iCloud function within the app. Then this will be most likely the cause of the problem. Go to the system iCloud settings and delete the apps iCloud Data. Can you start the App now?

Hallo! Die App sieht toll aus, allerdings lese ich gleich in dem ersten Kommentar dass mehrere Währungen gleichzeitig nicht unterstützt werden!? Für mich ein Kill-Kriterium. Wer wie ich als Deutscher in der Schweiz lebt hat in aller Regel noch irgendein Konto in Euro irgendwo, das auch verwaltet werden möchte.
Einer einfachen iOS-App mag man sowas noch nachsehen, aber wenn die Software auch als vollwertige Finanzverwaltung auf dem Mac laufen soll, müste das Feature m.E. her.
Ansonsten sieht das was ich bisher gesehen habe genau nach dem aus, was ich als Ersatz für mein Jumsoft Money suche…

Thank you for working hard on MoneyControl. Have recommended it to many friends. I really like the new design however I felt that a possibly of selection of theme colours would be great. The pie charts are now slightly harder to look it since it’s just variations of red colour. I liked the old design of the pie chart where it was easier to view. Thanks so much!

are you using iCloud. In this case this is moste likely the cause of the Problem. Go to the system Settings and delete the apps iCloud Data. Can you start the app now?
I am this App lover, ^^ , and I used it at the very start.
I love „Short cut“ function in new version.
But it can not set the currency of it, even if, in my setting the currency is THB (Thai baht). But when I am going to create new data from „Short cut“ it always appear in EUR.

we checked this and it is just a display error. Meaning the app shows „EUR“ while it uses the correct currencs internaly. We will fix this.
Hi, It’s a great software! Congratulation!
But I have to do a suggestion that is really important to me: As a composer who is travelling by business to different countries I need at least one more feature: It’s about currency. When I choose for example Korean Won KRW as default currency, because I am travelling to Korea, the software changes all my earlier entries – that I did for example in Euro, because I worked in Germany – also into KRW. Imagine for example, if you are on a one month business travel to 4 different countries with different currencies. Then it’s really gets confusing, if not different currencies are selectable for each entry as needed.
One more minor suggestion: If I do a new entry connected to a „person“ that is not already in my list (settings), I first have to go to settings and create that person. It would be much easier in use, if I could create a new person while creating my entry, without any need to go first to settings.
It will be superb,if there is the function as you said. But speed of opening app and input data is the most important, if both of them are not trade out. I love to see this implement as well.
